W3+ Rhine Valley 2019

Broad supporting programme and many contact possibilities

The 1st W3+ Fair Rhine Valley was opened by Harald Sonderegger, President of the State Parliament, Andrea Kaufmann, Mayor of Dornbirn, Petra Kreuzer, Vice-President of the Vorarlberg Chamber of Commerce, and Sabine Tichy-Treimel, host of the Dornbirn Trade Fair Centre. For the resident economy and politics the fair is a positive signal and perfect platform for the many KMUs in the region.

More than 40 renowned speakers presented themselves on two stages, who informed the visitors about news and trends in the fields of 3D printing, optics, photonics, medical technology, life science, automotive, aerospace and consumer electronics as well as about the opportunities and risks of digitisation. Spokespersons from companies such as CSEM, Continental, Swisscom, Zumtobel and Swarovski Optik could be won.

The 3D Printing special area was well occupied with 1to1 from Dornbirn, Alphacam, Personal Photonics and Haratech. FH Vorarlberg, NTB Interstaatliche Hochschule für Technik Buchs and St. Gallen as well as FH GR Fachhochschule Graubünden present the latest findings of university research on the "Campus Area". Other high-tech regions such as Wetzlar and Jena, which were represented with a joint Thuringian stand, presented their regional portfolios at the W3+ Fair.

The Swiss AGV used the new high-tech fair and invited its members to the AGV Forum "Innovation and Business Models in the Digital Age". The get-together at the invitation of Swissphotonics and Hessen Trade & Invest, HTAI, took place on the evening of the first day of the fair and seamlessly merged into the evening event "W3+ and friends". Here the exhibitors could network with each other and with the AGV members.

The first event was supported by many competence partners, including the national networks Photonics Austria and Swissphotonics as well as the European Photonics Industry Consortium EPIC. WZW Optic AG, PM, Solarius, Toptica Photonics, S.I.E Solutions, Haratech and Hessen Trade & Invest HTAI were involved as sponsors.
