Positive results in Wetzlar, Germany: second W3+ FAIR impresses with high quality of attendees and promising networking opportunities

The Exhibition grows: Over 130 companies presented themselves to 2.400 interested trade visitors - more exhibitors from abroad – great interest for interdisciplinary contacts

After an intensive few days, the W3+ FAIR 2015 networking fair for the optics, electronics and mechanics industries drew to a close with an increase in visitor numbers of more than 20%. Around 2,400 trade visitors from Germany and abroad travelled to Wetzlar, with 55% of these being from the field of optics, 20% from electronics, 28% from mechanics and 26% from related industries. The W3+ FAIR was thus true to its claim to bring together and more closely integrate experts from the three sectors.

"We are more than satisfied with the event," summarises Ralf Niggemann from the Wetzlar Network. "The W3+ FAIR meets the need of businesses to obtain innovative impulses: this is demonstrated by the huge rise in both exhibitor and visitor numbers. The networking creates synergies and thus a basis for growth."

Large number of decision makers on site
Among the companies, visitors came in particular from the areas of precision engineering (28 percent), laser / opto-electronics (25 percent), manufacturing technology for optics (19 percent) and mechatronics (16 percent). The specifically chosen location for the fair led to a strong turnout from business owners, managers and key decision-makers, ensuring that the event was well-received.

Huge rise in exhibitor numbers – including international companies
The number of exhibitors also increased: about 130 companies and industry partners from nine countries registered to attend. Exhibitor numbers increased by around 30% compared to the previous year. And the number of international representatives actually trebled.
